We’re thrilled to announce the addition of Meika’s Safehouse Bird Rehabilitation & Re-Homing Centre! They will be bringing some of their own birds for you to interact with at the 2024 Edmonton Pet Expo, happening March 9 &10 at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. This is a great opportunity to interact with the birds, to ask questions, and to find out more about the work they do and how you might support them. And if you’re thinking of purchasing or adopting a bird in the future, they are going to be able to give you the real scoop on what it takes. Birds are incredibly wonderful creatures with very specific and of often intense needs – and it is best for both you and birds that you know this BEFORE making the leap. After all, some breeds could be with you over 50 years! These knowledgeable bird-owning folks are going to be able to give you the info on what it really takes to care for different bird breeds!
Meika’s Safehouse is a registered charitable organization whose purpose is to rehabilitate and provide a safe and loving environment for any bird in need. They work primarily with parrots, but all species of companion or pet birds are welcomed. Visit their website to learn more about what they do!
